Customization Form Overview

The Customization Form enables end-users to show and hide fields from Pivot Grid at runtime via drag-and-drop. Dragging the field's header and dropping it onto a customization window hides the field. To show the field, drag its header from the customization window to the required header area.

Expanded Overview

End-users can show the customization form using the header area context menu. The form's location and size are specified by the ASPxPivotGrid.CustomizationFieldsLeft, ASPxPivotGrid.CustomizationFieldsTop, PivotGridWebOptionsCustomization.CustomizationWindowHeight and PivotGridWebOptionsCustomization.CustomizationWindowWidth properties.

A field can be dragged to the customization form if its PivotGridFieldOptions.AllowDrag property is set to true. To prevent individual fields from being moved by an end-user, set their PivotGridFieldOptions.AllowDrag property to false. If the field's PivotGridFieldOptions.ShowInCustomizationForm property is set to false, its header is not displayed within the customization form. In this instance, the only way to show the field within the pivot grid is to change its PivotGridFieldBase.Visible property in code.

Expanded Visibility

You can control the Customization Form visibility on the client side. The ASPxClientPivotGrid object exposes the following methods that allow you to do this.

Returns/specifies the visibility state of the customization form.
ASPxClientPivotGrid.ChangeCustomizationFieldsVisibility Switches the customization form visible state.

The ASPxClientPivotGrid.CustomizationFieldsVisibleChanged event fires on the client side after the customization form visible state has been changed.

Use the ASPxPivotGrid.ClientInstanceName property to specify a unique client-side identifier for the ASPxPivotGrid.
