Focused Row Overview

To enable the Focused Row feature, set the ASPxGridViewBehaviorSettings.AllowFocusedRow property to true.

The style settings used to paint the focused data row can be accessed and customized using the GridViewStyles.FocusedRow property. The focused group row's appearance can be customized using the GridViewStyles.FocusedGroupRow property.

Note

Row focusing is disabled when cell merging is allowed.

Expanded Server-Side

The focused row is identified by the ASPxGridView.FocusedRowIndex property. Use this property to move row focus within the current page. Changing this property raises the ASPxGridView.FocusedRowChanged event.

This example shows how to focus a row which isn't displayed within the current page. To do this, you should first switch to the page which contains the required row, and then move row focus.

Expanded Client-Side

End-users move row focus by clicking rows they desire. To identify a row currently being focused, use the ASPxClientGridView.GetFocusedRowIndex client method. To move row focus, use the ASPxClientGridView.SetFocusedRowIndex method.

To respond to changing row focus, handle the ASPxClientGridView.FocusedRowChanged client event.
