Exporting a Chart

This document describes how a Web chart can be exported on the client side.

Since a chart is represented as an image on the client-side, its impossible to save its overall layout (as the WebChartControl.SaveToFile and WebChartControl.SaveToStream methods do). Instead, you can use the ASPxClientWebChartControl.SaveToDisk and ASPxClientWebChartControl.SaveToWindow methods of an ASPxClientWebChart object, to export the chart to one of the available formats (PDF, XLS, XLSX, MHT, RTF, RTF, PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF and GIF).

Note

Exporting a chart to all formats (except for image) is based upon the XtraPrinting Library, so do not forget to add a reference to the DevExpress.XtraPrinting assembly into your project's References list.

A related example is available online, in the DevExpress Code Central database at How to export a web chart on a client side.
