Table Style Dialog

The Modify Style dialog enables end-users to change the style applied to a table. You can specify the base style and the element to which style settings are applied. The table elements available are Header (first) row, Total (last) row, First column, Last column, Odd and Even Column and Row bandings, and the cells located at the table corners. You can also apply formatting to the entire table.

When a table style is applied to a particular table, not all elements of the style are applied. The Table Style Options determine which table elements are formatted with the applied style. The same functionality is available for end-users via the Table Style Options group in the Ribbon UI.

The Modify Style dialog is invoked by right-clicking within the Table Styles Ribbon page group. To create a Table Styles group, provide the Ribbon UI for RichEditControl (see How to: Create a Simple Word Processor with a Ribbon UI), and create a Table Ribbon page (using the Create Table Bars smart tag).

The ShowTableStyleFormCommand is used to invoke the table style dialog.

To customize the default Modify Style dialog (change captions, set default dialog values, implement custom validation, etc.) or replace it with a completely new dialog, handle the RichEditControl.TableStyleFormShowing event. To see an example of dialog replacement, refer to the How to: Customize the Search Form document.
