Node Structure

Nodes include a number of elements:

All elements except data cells can be hidden via the corresponding properties. The table below lists the available elements, describes their purpose and visibility conditions.

Element Description Visibility
Data cells Display data from the associated data source record. Always visible.
Indicator Cells Enable end-users to move focus to nodes via a mouse click. Double-clicks result in expanding/collapsing the node. The TreeListOptionsView.ShowIndicator option.
Expand Button Enables end-users to expand/collapse the node. Indicates the current node state. The TreeListOptionsView.ShowButtons option.
Preview Sections Allow the display of arbitrary information under a node's data cells. Useful when it is required to display contents of a memo field. The TreeListOptionsView.ShowPreview option. See Preview Sections to learn more.
Select image Allows the display of an arbitrary image within a node. Provides means for automatic image substitution when the node is selected (receives focus). See the TreeList.SelectImageList topic for details.
State image Allows the display of an arbitrary image reflecting a node's state, according to your needs. See the TreeList.StateImageList topic for details.
