How to: Assign Custom Action to the Group Caption Button

The Ribbon interface groups containing commands which provide- the RichEditControl functionality, utilize the Caption Button element of the RibbonPageGroup in their own way. So, you should not use the RibbonPageGroup.ShowCaptionButton property to change the button's visibility. The ShowCaptionButtonMode property is implemented instead.

Set the ShowCaptionButtonMode value to DevExpress.XtraBars.Commands.Ribbon.ShowCaptionButtonMode.Hide, to hide the caption button. If the value is set to DevExpress.XtraBars.Commands.Ribbon.ShowCaptionButtonMode.Show, the default action assigned to the button is not executed, and you can handle the RibbonPageGroup.CaptionButtonClick event to perform custom tasks.

The default value is DevExpress.XtraBars.Commands.Ribbon.ShowCaptionButtonMode.Auto, and it enables the default action along with the execution of the CaptionButtonClick event handler. The following code snippet illustrates the use of the CaptionButtonClick event for the Paragraph Ribbon Group.
