Customization Form Functionality for Banded Views

Expanded Customization Form Functionality for Banded Views

The Grid Control supports the Customization Form for the GridView, BandedGridView and AdvBandedGridView View types. This topic describes the features of using the customization box that only apply to banded Views. The Customization Form Overview topic describes the basic features and end-user capabilities when using the Customization Form.

Generally, all column operations using a Customization Form in banded Views are the same as those described in the Implement Customization Form Functionality topic.

When using the Customization Form within banded Views, it is possible to drag bands to it. In this case, the columns or bands, arranged within the band are also affected. The BandedGridView.CanDragBand method returns if the band can be dragged.

Placing a band into a Customization Form sets the band's GridBand.Visible property to false. To move a band from a View to the Customization Form programmatically, set the band's GridBand.Visible property to false manually. Note, however, that even if a band cannot be dragged, you can move it to the Customization Form by using this property.

Note: if the band's OptionsBand.ShowInCustomizationForm option is not set, the band header cannot be displayed in the Customization Form. In this case, the only way to make the band visible in the View again is to change the GridColumn.Visible property of the band's column. If the BandedGridOptionsCustomization.ShowBandsInCustomizationForm option is set to false, the Bands tab within the customization box is not displayed.
