Using Detail Tabs

Each master row in Grid Control can provide access to multiple detail Views. You can allow the end-user to switch between details via detail tabs or detail tooltips.

Expanded Using Detail Tabs

Detail tabs support switching between sibling detail Views. They display detail Views' captions and these, by default, match the names of the corresponding master-detail relationships. To change the display name for a particular detail View, use its BaseView.ViewCaption property or handle the master View's GridView.GetRelationDisplayName event.

Set the GridOptionsDetail.ShowDetailTabs property to true to enable detail tabs.

When the end-user clicks on a detail tab, the corresponding detail is opened in the detail section while hiding the one previously open. To open a specific detail via code, use the GridView.SetMasterRowExpandedEx method. Refer to the Expanding and Collapsing Master Rows document for more information.

If the GridOptionsDetail.AllowExpandEmptyDetails property is set to false, Grid Control does not support opening empty details.
