How to: Open a Detail View When the Grid Row is Clicked in the Dashboard

This topic describes how to invoke a Detail View when a user clicks a row in the GridDashboardItem created using the Dashboards Module. In the invoked Detail View, a user can view or edit a business object corresponding to the clicked row.

Unlike List Views, the Dashboard component displays aggregated data. For instance, the GridDashboardItem applies Grouping before displaying data source items. Each row in the GridDashboardItem references multiple data source objects. In this example, it is considered that GridDashboardItem has a column with unique values so that each row references a single object. Values in this column are used to find this object in the data source.
